    Hi mounir34.
Maybe I don't understand your question.
Spectrum Efficiency is inherent in the technologies and shows how many bits can be transmitted per Hz (bps/Hz).
For instance (got from internet), following are the spectrum efficiency for some technologies.

    Hope it helps

Take a look at this Wiki, it might help you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectral_efficiency

Interesting to note the research going into Massive MIMO http://www.microwavejournal.com/arti...o-massive-mimo "spectral efficiency of nearly 80 bits/s/Hz"

  5. Thanks zeuscane, electron thanked for this post

    dears
i want to know the right formula ,how to calculate the Spectral efficiency for 3G and LTE
also which factors can effect the efficiency of the spectral
    i used the below formula,
Spectral Efficiency (b/s/Hz)= Total Throughput (bps)/Bandwidth(Hz)

    Hi,

That's a nice document. Anyhow i have seen some operators that calculating Spectral efficiency irrespective of PRB utilization which is actually wrong approach and in Qualcom apparently they considered correct formula and included PRB Utilization as well.

Unit is to be bits/s/Hz --> which will translate to throughput per used Hz.
If you will be using counters, I think that u can use (Total DownLoaded bits/Total Transmit Time (removed last TTI)) / PRB Used / 180kHz..
But averaging in 1 hr basis using counters may have impact on this...
U can use drive test data though..
