Default UMTS-GSM Equivalent channel Number [Interference]

    Dears,

We have both UMTS & GSM using band 850

UMTS is using for example UARFCN 4413
I wan to calculate GSM ARFCN channels equivalent to this UMTS Band,
To avoid having GSM BCCH, TCH Channels assigned to my cells interference with this band

any tool or excel could help to do this please !

    Hi justdream,

I personally use http://niviuk.free.fr/umts_band.php when I need to calculate something.

Formulas are at the bottom of the page. You can use them to create formula in Excel and present the results in more convenient way.

    Hi justdream,

If you choose 4413 on the link I've posted you will see that in Band 5 (850 MHz) central DL frequency is 882.6 MHz and UL is 837.6 MHz.

There are some formulas in the link below that can help you match the ARFCNs to Frequency https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolu...channel_number

The best way is to make an Excel table with all ARFCNs from GSM850 and match them with the corresponding frequencies.

In your case the frequencies correspond to ARFCN 195. If you use 5 MHz (25 ARFCNs) UMTS then your UMTS band is from 195-12 to 195+12 or 183 - 207.
