Sepura STP 8000 prog cable

I would like to build my own programming cable for STP8000 series.

Which route would be advisable:

Prolific serial cable or serial to USB converter :

In order to test cable I should be able to use a TTY program to at least see some communication between radio and PC

Anyone done these testing and can anuone confirm baudrate for stp

I have made the cable and one of the pins goes to 3 V dc when the radio is switched on and remains at this voltage .
Checked with scope no data on 12 or 13 .

From this which type of usb should one use- I do not want to blow up anything so need to have the correct usb to TXD and RXd lines to the radio .

Hello all.
I am a new member to this forum!
As such I am unable to see the pictures or some of the threads.
But I have tried to build this cable for STP9000 and with no success!
I am using FTDI 232 RG and pins RXD, TXD & GND!
But always I get the same message (ERROR CONNECTING RADIO).
Can anyone please advise me?
