Configuration of 3G Cells CGI in Huawei CS/PS Core Network
Dear Colleagues,
Can someone let me know the procedure to check if a 3G cell's CGI is properly configured in Huawei MSC (MSOFT)?
Also, is it necessary to configure the cell information in the SGSN for PS services? (also Huawei SGSN).
Thank you in advance,

Re: Configuration of 3G Cells CGI in Huawei CS/PS Core Network
Hello, in Huawei MSC as experience if CGI or SAI not configured there will be alarms "...inconsistency...". You can configure cell based on that. However, it's always safe to configure them before alarms occur. For PS service, you don't need to configure SAI or CGI, but you have to configure LAI and RAI properly. If you're using MSC Pool, you have to ensure inter-MSC LACs are configured properly for handover.

In HW-MSOFTX
1.run MML command - LST LAISAIR=LOCAL;
2.check the LAISAI Description MCC(Dec)+MNC(Dec)+LAC(Hex)+CID(Hex)
3.cross-check the planned configuration matches with the output
In HW-SGSN
1. run MML - LST CELLREF:;
2. check the cell configuration CELLID = MCC + MNC + LAC + RAC + CI
3. cross-check the planned data
