Default NEED HELP !! INCREASE OF DROP PS AFTER CHANGE OF IDLE PARAMETER ON HUAWEI NETWORK

    Dear expert

In order to decrease RRC fail noreply in our Huawei network we have change idle parameter Qrxlevmin from -58 to -55 in all cells on one RNC; we ramark increase only on PS Drop, meanwhile CS drop remain stable

please to tell me the root causes

    Thanks

    Hi,

Check if FACH users were increased and also FACH congestion after change.

    Hi,

UEs in FACH and PCH use the same Qrxlevmin as in idle mode (SIB3) so it cannot access the cell anymore and drop.

Check if this counter VS.RAB.AbnormRel.PS.CCH is triggered since the parameter adjustment

In increasing the minimum received level required to camp unto the network, you are limiting UEs with lower level from accessing the network, hence the drop.

Shouldn't it be going in the opposite direction? By increasing the minimum, you should be forcing the UEs in poor coverage to GSM by reselection, thus, reducing the Drop? For the ones coming from GSM, you made it harder to camp on it, thus, only allowing UEs in better coverage to reselect to UMTS.

    Hi,

It has been observed that such drop may occur because of standalone SRB drop issue due to ping pong reselection between 2G and 3G. Let's make sure it is not the case . As we have minimum required EcNo for selecting WCDMA cell from GSM side there is similar parameter FDDRscpMin so better to make sure it is not the mismatch .

    Cheers
