IP20C Dual Carrier
Hi
i'm searching for information about IP20C/IP20S Ceragon full outdoor :
- maximum modulation in case of Adaptive Modulation (ACM) Activated
- maximum modulation in case of fixed modulation set
thank you

Re: IP20C Dual Carrier
The technical description says the following about modulation levels:
IP-20S implements ACM with 11 available working points, from Profile 0 (QPSK) to Profile 10 (2048 QAM)
The same for IP20C. In addition the IP20C as a multi carrier system has the specialty that each carrier can change its ACM profile, with a maximum of 30 msec between each switch in modulation. There is no limitation upon the profile difference between carriers, so that one carrier can be operating at the lowest possible profile (QPSK) while the other is operating at the highest possible profile (2048 QAM).
There is no difference if you are using ACM or fixed modulation.

Re: IP20C Dual Carrier
Thanks Cemist
i was sure , as u are now, that 2048QAM is the max modulation
but then i red the Cambium help forum for PTP 820 (a.k.a. Ceraong IP20C) where is reported :
- 2048QAM is the maximum modulation available only in fixed mode
- 1024QAM is the maximum modulation available in ACM mode (to be verified)
and also reproted that in case of use of 80MHz channels the maximum modulation available ,in anycase, is 1024QAM
can you verify that for me please?
ScreenHunter_314 Nov. 03 16.04.jpg
in case all of this is confirmed IP20C has no fuel enough to support even 1024QAM in 80MHz or 2048QAM in other bands
according to that
in case of 28/56MHz
- 2048QAM is the maximum modulation available only in fixed mode
- 1024QAM is the maximum modulation available in ACM mode
in case of 80MHz
- 1024QAM is the maximum modulation available only in fixed mode
- 512QAM is the maximum modulation available in ACM mode
and 112MHz channels not even supported
PS: in my knowledge there is not reason to have one carrier @ 4QAM and the other carrier @ max modulation (iso freq) ...exept a faulty modem

Re: IP20C Dual Carrier
From the technical description of CeraOS version 8.5.5 the IP-20C System is capable of 2048 QAM with or without ACM enabled in channels of up to 56MHz bandwidth. If you are inthe very rare situation of using their MIMO feature modulation gets limited to 1024 QAM.
For the 80 MHz channel 1024QAM is the maximum possible modulation.
112MHz bandwidth is not supported with IP-20C as single channel, only using the MultiCore Mediation Devices (MCMD) type "splitter" and using two 56MHz channels.
