    Default 6 Sectors

    Dears,

Have you ever tried 6 Sectors solution for capacity issues?
Do you have report about Advantages & Disadvantages?
what should be taken in consideration before deployment?

    Hi,

I don't recommend 6 sectors, traditional solution, for capacity in LTE, many additional interference between sites. A good solution is to place for capacity dual or three beam antennas where the interference area is reduced but the issue is that many manufacturers only support 2x2 MIMO and traffic should be static to avoid handovers between sectors.
    Hope my answer helped you

    6th sector advantage:
    solve Power utilization problem
    enhance throughput
    increase HS Traffic

    Disadvantage:
    Increase SHO Overhead
    Increase Pilot pollution
Balance Traffic may not be that easy
    increase CS CDR

just deploy it on Sectors with Double cascaded RRUs with High Power utilization

For 3G it bring some times poor CQI and Ec/no null area and more neighour optimization need .

    Hi.

it can be helpfull, but you need 30° H beamwidth antennas to avoid overlapping bitween sectors, otherwise, you will face an issue of quality there.

I wouldn't discount it. We use 6 sector on 3G for years now and have even starting using the solution on 4G. The uplift in capacity is very good and we have no performance problems. I would advice you persuade your management to do a proof of concept on a busy site and that way you can draw your own conclusions. I will try to share some relevant info when I find some time.

    Hello,

I think for Increased SHO overhead, it can be taken care of using Parameter Optimisation.
