ue restart baseband with fastdormancy activate
Dear expert
Reffer to E******* doccument :"Certain ue can trigger a baseband restart when they perform channel switch from DCH to URA_PCH while using Fastdormancy feature. this baseband restart does not occur when UE switch from Cell_Fach to URA_PCH. to avoid the baseband restart, it's is recomended to set RabHandling::state128_128Supported
to TRUE, but it causes deactive direct downswitch from Cell_DC to URA_PCH. instead it downswitch from Cell_DCH to Cell_FACH.
the question is:
how we can keep switching diectedly from Cell_DCH to URA_PCH while using Fastdormancy and don't make UE restart baseband?

Hi Nhake,
it is still valid, and you can use e******* solution which is black listing such Ues.
Ue Differentiated feature is there and details can be found in alex.
Let me know if you have any further query here.

Imran

Re: ue restart baseband with fastdormancy activate
Hi Muhammad
Thank you for your support
i found it in alex
as you known, main ideal is separate UEs into 2 groups so Fasdormancy can appropriatly handle each group
group 1 : ues restart baseband, UE downswitchs from Cell_DCH to Cell_FACH to URA_PCH
group 2: UE do not restart, dirrectecly downswitch Cell_DCH to URA_PCH
but the problem happens, because we have many manufactures and many models roll out each month
so it is difficulty to keep update list of UEs in each group
Do you have any suggestion in this situation?

Re: ue restart baseband with fastdormancy activate
This is the challenge associated with this work around. Actually there should be some auto detection of such Ues, unfortunately there isn't such process yet in E// but they are working on it.
Good news, E// from lab testing are maintaining&updating such list and available on E// intra-net. Kindly contact your local E// team, they must provide you. I am not authorized to share that internal doc.
