Reporting to the Systems Operations Manager as a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible to design, install and manage mission critical in-house developed systems running in the private cloud infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with System Engineers, QA and Internal Developers ensuring continued alignment and delivery of key non-functional requirements, optimizations, patches or complete solutions
• Servers Operating Systems’ administration (Linux) including installation, configuration, hardening and updates
• Deployment, technical acceptance testing and benchmarking of Systems Applications
• Maintain and develop automation processes for deploying software
• 24×7 proactive monitoring and support of the solutions deployed
• Implement & verify Backups & Restores on relevant Databases, Servers and underlying Infrastructure
• Develop appropriate standards and practices – ensuring proper documentation and maintenance
• Basic MySQL Administration

Technical skills:
• All-rounder with very good general IT Knowledge
• A good working knowledge of Linux technologies
• Database Administration Experience (MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL Databases)
• Scripting languages (Bash, Perl, PHP)
• Knowledge of Object-oriented languages (Java, C++) will be an asset
• Virtualisation technologies (VMware, KVM)
• Able to work on his/her own initiative and without supervision
• Mail (postfix), DNS (named), monitoring (Zabbix), backups
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
• Experience with automation/configuration management using either Salt, Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
Support the Engineering team in designing a regional wireless (GSM/UMTS/HSPA/LTE) network and optimization of new and existing wireless sites while meeting capacity and coverage needs. This role maximizes network performance by proactively identifying and resolving system performance affecting issues in the voice and data network. The RF Engineer analyzes drive test data, network performance metrics, and customer complaints to engineer air interface configurations to improve network performance.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Design system, based on variable inputs to provide maximum coverage, capacity and performance

Search area issuance, candidate assessment, site walks and approvals

Construction Drawing verification and impacts to RF performance

Redesign of a mature network to minimize capacity constraints and improve performance

Prepare FCC/FAA submissions and complying with all applicable wireless legal requirements including FCC filings, FAA filings, neighbor market coordination, and Maximum Permissible Exposure guidelines

Conduct and analyze drive testing for potential sites, new site integration

Use post processing tools and propagation modeling software and model tuning to analyze system performance and aid in system design.

Perform frequency planning

Monitoring system performance indicators such as dropped calls, blocked calls, origination failures, handoff failures, review capacity reports and forecast for short and long term site/system requirements

Identifying specific needs for new service area requirements

Attending zoning hearings in support of new site acquisitions

Utilizing knowledge of GSM, UMTS, HSPA, and LTE to contribute in network design

Other tasks and responsibilities as required.

Education, Certification and /or Training Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, related Technological Discipline, or equivalent work experience required

Minimum 5 years experience in PCS/Cellular RF Engineering

Minimum 3 years experience in cell site design for coverage and capacity

Demonstrated knowledge in GSM, WCDMA, UMTS, HSPA, LTE

Deep understanding / experience of RF design: including site design, antenna pattern choices, model tuning

Understanding / experience of site implementation constraints

Proficient in using Excel, Word, Access, Windows XP, etc.

Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent troubleshooting skills

Ability to work flexible hours, under pressure, and to produce excellent results with little to no supervision

Demonstrated ability to do the job

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Ability to work long hours, including occasional nights and weekends, with physical requirements of lifting 25 pounds, operating a keyboard, bending, walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time.

Preferred:
Hands on experience with GSM, WCDMA (HSPA+), LTE, technology in PCS and AWS bands strongly preferred.

Previous PCS buildout experience preferred.

Background with Nokia equipment a plus.

Previous experience with MapInfo, Actix, Planet, and TEMS a plus.

Crown Castle USA, Inc.'s King of Prussia, PA, offices seeks an RF Engineer to use sound engineering principles and planning tools to support the RF Engineering team with the small cell sales process, project implementation, and the ongoing maintenance and modification of small cell systems. Will also select node locations for network design; preparing design packages; building relationships with customer RF Engineering to understand design criteria; analyzing drive test results using Mapinfo; calculating link budgets, reviewing and validating antenna system sweep test results, performing network optimization on multiple technologies (CDMA, EvDO, GSM, LTE, etc.).

Must have bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related position.
