    Default Optimum TILT Values....

    Dear All,

Could Someone explain or tell the optimum values for 2G & 3G technology. In our network we set Electrical Tilt - 2 & Mechanical Tilt - 0 in XAHT,Agisson & Mobi Antennas for 2G Network & Mechanical Tilt - 2 for Katherein (Where no electrical tilt is possible). For 3G Network we set Electrical Tilt - 5 & No Mechanical Tilt.

    Hello,

It depends of a lot of factors like, frequency (lower frequencies propagates farther that higher frequencies), enviroment (you want that your cell cover more area in a rural area, but in high dense urban areas with buildings you are going to need to limit the cell coverage due potential interference), amount of cells in the area, amount of clients in the area, the cell is there for give more capacity or only coverage?.

3G is more sensitive with interference compare to 2G, hence overlap control is more important in 3G, so with the same site to site distance, frequency band, normally 3G require more down tilt than 2G.

    Dear techfolkcmr

It depends , if the values of electrical tilt and mechanical tilt vill be modify in the way of Rollout the project, for example in the begining for nominal an final planning the values of this tilts may be TE - 2, TM 1 Suburaban sites, for Urban sites TE-4, TM 1 in 2G Networks, and TE-4 TM 1 for Urban sites, and suburban rural sites TE-2 , TM 1 and its depends of the range of frecuency, for example 850 MHz the values of TE, TM will have high for the penetration and hig propagation in comparative for 1900 MHz or AWS, etc, where the values will be not very strict because the propagation is less.
But the project is on the Optimization Phase, this values will be change depending of the trouble tickets, rollout of hte new sites, Initial tuning, propagation analysis, optimizing KPIs, etc.

    Best Regards.
