    Default EcNo Idle/ Dedicated Mode

    Dear Experts,
Supposedly we don't have luxury to use scanner what will be the best method to judge EcNo i.e idle mode or dedicated mode?

    Also appreciate reason for that.

Well in Huawei you can search the counters of TP and have an idea whats the overall Ec/No for that cell based on TP.
Check the forum as there is an excel file that makes it possible to check cell by cell.(can check the counters)

Another method is to check with OMstar based on "MR" from mobile phones but need to take in consideration the CPU load as when "MR" are open for all the network they can increase to 10% more the CPU load based on Huawei. Try open them for clusters or cells first.(open "MR")
You can try FMA and judge from PCHR/CHR logs and filter the value but will need time for this one.(Import PCHR/CHR in FMA/Omstar)
BLER is related to EcNo most of the times, but always.(can check the counters)
But in connected mode check CQI also.

As far this is what comes to my mind.

use dedicated mode only . No power control in idle mode so there is always delay in cell change.

    Dear Sulaiman,
Thanks for the reply. Do you mean Dedicated mode gives the true picture of network rather than idle mode?
