Trying to improve AMR CDR, we propose to increase RlMaxDlPwr (0-->30) for AMR 12.2 ?

I am wondering what could be the impact of this change. Does it affect HSDPA thpt ? How to judge that?

Could you simplify the power distribution between different service and priorities (HSDPA, CPICH, DPDCH, R99 PS and CS)?

Hi,

By this change you are utilizing ur MCPA PWR more to maintain Ue RL with higher power. There is risk of HSDPA Thr degradation if in network PWR is bottleneck . After the change check power utilization and rise of DL Pwr Adm trigger.

Hi Fahmi,
increasing max power is very effective, you will get big improvement, but i have suggestion here.

usually AMR drops happen when you have multi-Rab, so try to have RlMaxDlPwr (0-->30 for AMR12.2+3.7 = 15.9Kbps. it will have exceptionally good improvement.
Regarding your query for power consumption, you need to go to RBS level counters which will give you PA utilization for R99 & HS separately.

but max power will be used if you have RL really suffering and unable to maintain SIR, so over all there will be minor impact in your throughput.

Hi,

Increasing RlMaxDlPwr (0-->30) for AMR 12.2 will improve CS DCR but on the other end it will increase power congestion and limit the capacity of your network (especially if your CPICH>= 10%). Also it will impact HS throughput (less power is now available for HS), increase CS IRAT attempts and increase in poor EcNo samples (can be checked by MRs distribution in BH before and after). RTWP might also increase (overall noise rise).
