    Well, I would say that the limit will be set by the HW. The more number of connected users per cell the less throughput per user. The operator should decide the number of allowed connected users depending on the max throughput available per cell (depending on LTE bandwidth, antenna configuration, modulation, etc).

    In E/// L13a one enodeb can handle 6000 user , in L12b 30000.
    Huawei equipament has 6000 user in ran3.

    Other point. Thousand of users per eNB is nowdays not needed. Nowdays, 150 connected users could be considered as a loaded node. Once LTE Advanced is deployed (more capacity per cell) one thousand CU could be an option.
