    Default NUMREQEGPRSBPC Dimension

    Hi All

    Since E******* sells all the feature for the operator per time slot how we can dimension the NUMREQEGPRSBPC since they required to pay per # of defined EGPRS BPC.

    usually we define it as NUMREQBPC - 1(BCCH) - x(CCCH) - y(SDCCH)

    Thanks

    This is only the case if you define NUMREQEGPRSBPC on CHGR-0(BCCH TRX). However if you define it on CHGR-1 you can define up to 8 time slots for EDGE. It all depends on how much traffic is expected on the network and whats the traffic model. However you should at least keep NUMREQEGPRSBPC around 4 to 5 in every cell.

    Hi E*******_RND:

    Kindly clarify on E1 while dimensioning.
    Assume we have a basic confinguration of tripple 4. i.e. 4 TRX for sector A,
    4 TRX for sector B and 4 TRX for sector c.

    Also can u shade some light on the relationship between FPDCH and NUMREQEGPRS

    Thank you all for sharing the knowledge

    @muhammadbillal reducing the NUMREQEGPRSBPC will affect the MultiSlot Utilization and the PDCH Allocation Failure is that enough to judge the dimensioning of the NUMREQEGPRSBPC ?

    Hello Samiran;

    For 444 configuration E1 will be enough to activate few no. of EDGE time slots, Based on calculations it should not exceed approx. 5 time slot for all site/TG.
    Each E1 have 31 time slot with 64Kb/s signaling , BCCH, SDCCH others will occupy space from E1 slots.
    Also CS should be considered based on company strategy if priority is for voice or packet to reserve slots for.
    In this forum there are some macros explain the best way for dimensioning which will be useful for you.
