Any solution for High Half rate penetration in Huawei 2G in non Busy hour, it was noticed that it is a little bit high for low traffic (HR-FR Thresholds are set properly)

Any solution for High Half rate penetration in Huawei 2G in non Busy hour, it was noticed that it is a little bit high for low traffic (HR-FR Thresholds are set properly)

Check below parameters:

TCH traffic busy threshold

AMR TCH/H Prior cell load threshold

these parameters are working properly in Busy hours,however in non busy hours HR penetration seems higher than usual, any other parameters are controlling HR ?

Check below parameters:

AMR TCH/H Prior cell load threshold

both of these paramters are for shifting from FR to HR , check the paramter sheet there is a paramter for conversion from HR to FR also , this helps in more FR traffic ,
also one more way is to set these two paramters at a relaxed mode so that at time od Non Busy hour they dont shift all calls to HR.

like others have said, its either those 2 parameters are not well set or you are beginning to have have more traffic on your cells during non busy hour, cross check the traffic you are getting during non busy hour against the number of FR channels you are using on an erlang B table (GOS 2%), that will give you an idea if you you have enough channels, if after checking you have enough FR channels to carry all the traffic but you are still seeing much HR traffic then your HR thresholds are too strict, relax them. if after checking you dont have enough FR channels to carry your non BH traffic then it is confirmed that you cell traffic has grown over time hence the reason for the increased HR traffic. you can also chart traffic trend over like 1 month on the affected cell to confirm, if confirmed you might need to make your HR thresholds stricter to avoid congestion.

You may go for dynamic half rate penetration during non busy hour

Intracell F-H HO Allowed= YES

F2H HO Threshold = 21
H2F HO Threshold = 13

It might be due to H2F intracell HOs based on RxQuailty. Check related parameters
