Default HOF INCREASE AFTER PCM FAILURE IN NOKIA

    Hi guys.

Can anyone help me with this case?..

We have had handover failure increase in very high values in our nokia dual band network inmediatly after PCM & LAPD failure, the sites affected show a high %HOF with all adjacencies, except the adjacents of same BCF I mean the only adjacencies with no failures are S1-S2-S3.

We dont have %DC_TCH/SDCCH increase, only %HOF.

Anyone know if is there any connections between the fail in PCM or any transmission components and the handover failures?...shuld be any shyncronization lost afther the PCM failure?.

Any help will be usefull for me.

    Thanks

    Hi Atese
It is more to do with the PCM synchronization. Just check if you are using multi BCF function of Nokia and having separate BTS for 900-1800 bands. If so, PCM/LAPD fluctuations may result in your 1800 (non BCCH) layer to become master and 900 to become slave.
Such a phenomenon will usually happen when 1800 PCM/BTS will be live earlier than 900.

    Hope this explains.

    Cheers!
