    Default Question: BSC6900 UMTS Subrack Capacity

    Hi,

    I would just like to ask what is the maximum capacity that a BSC6900 UMTS Subrack can support in terms of Mbps.

    Config will be SPUa (Slot 0-5) SCUa (Slot 6-7) DPUe (Slot 813). If i put GOUc from Slot 14-27, how many node Bs can i put with 45mbps each.


    Will I be limited to DPUe capacity? with just 335mbps each?

    Check for the SPU capacity as well. I think in such SPU capacity will be less than DPU boards.

    Guys,

    The amount of NodeB in a subrack is limited due to SPU board. SPUb: 180 Nodeb per board and SPUa: 100 Nodeb per board.
    And how much data (User Plane) the subrack can handle is limited due to DPU. DPUe: 335Mbps or 800Mbps (depend on license).

    Dont forget that those board has limit of active users. Also remember that the Tx Board has some limit (Nodeb number and traffic) and that the NodeB Traffic inst constant.

    Thanks rfsupp! so if i have a Node B with 45Mbps capacity, I can only configure at least 44 Nobe Bs per subrack (assuming that i have 6 DPUes (335Mbps each))?

    rfsupp already made everything clear. One more thing to mention, take redundancy into account; (N+1) for DPU & (1+1) for SPU.

    The dimensionning of DPUe depends on Total PS throughput and number of Cells, one DPUe can support 335 Mbps and 300 cells, in your case, if total throughput DL and UL of NodeB is 45 Mbps and we suppose there is 6 cells per NodeB. the quantity of DPue is calculated as follows:
    DPUe = Max (roundup(44*45/335),roundup(45*6/300).

    Sorry, the formula is DPUe = Max (roundup(44*45/335),roundup(45/300)).
