    Hi,
    what are the expected Wideband PESQ values of AMR-WB in 3g or 2g networks?

    Hi Boring ,


    The values depend on the bit rates/radio conditions. Good Radio Conditions/Higher Bit Rate--> Higher the PESQ.


    eg. For clean environment and bit rate of 12.65kbps, the expected value of PESQ should be around 3.7.


    You can refer to the below table (for amr-wb bit rate 12.65) to comprehend the effect of radio conditions on PESQ:




    Condition PESQ
    Clean 3.745
    1% FER 3.488
    2% FER 3.268
    3% FER 3.053
    6% FER 2.525

    thanks, this is very useful.
    i pressume these values are from 2G network.
    do you have anything from 3G?

    also if you have any docs that you can publicly share would be very useful

    Also consider looking into P.863 POLQA, which is the latest ITU standard for voice quality analysis and is designed to supersede PESQ for wideband and super-wideband use.
