    Default WNCS help needed.

    Hi folks,
    In E// OSS, iam not able to find WNCS Icon , as a matter of fact not even common explorer.
    i heard we can open it from the command promt, could anybody share the commands to open any application from the terminal or command prompt.

    not shure about WNCS, but command for starting ALV from the terminal is start_alv , so maybe start_wncs?
    btw. what do you use java desktop or the old CDE? if you don't have icons on one GUI try the other...

    appreciate you help paranoja, its the old CDE. tried start_wncs but no luck. By the way i also tried alv that too is not working what is it for?

    Ok, alv stands for alarm list viewer...
    first go /opt/e*******/bin, do an "LS -la" and there you will find aliases and full paths for starting all OSS aplications from the shell
    for example, /opt/e*******/fm/bin/start_ALV in my case... i hope it helped
