Default HSUPA low throughput due to VS.HSUPA.OverLoadNum(times)

    Hi All,

Does anyone faced this issue? It only happens on HSUPA service. I am experiencing this in one site of my Huawei network which having high number of VS.HSUPA.OverLoadNum(times) in daytime and leads to HSUPA Throughput max at around 800kbps, I did spotted the period where this counter shows less number and perform Drive Test and we could get average HSUPA throughput of 1.5Mbps. Can anyone tell me that the Overload for this counter is indicating what kind of UL resource overload? CE? IUB? Power? Code? Where and how to check the overload threshold for this?

The UCellHSUPA Dump shows the following setting:
Is it this counter triggered count as the UL load reach the threshold of MaxtragetUlloadfactor? Can anyone enlighten me please?

Do you activate the OLC/Overload Control ? If yes maybe this is the issue, maybe it is overload due to max user or Max Rot as well, try to balance the load. decreasing max rot is not a good idea, since it will reduce the truput as well

RTWP is reaching to its thresholds to admit more users in cell. MaxtragetUlloadfactor gives permissible limit of RTWP in cell to admit more users.

    Hi Mate,

Yes, OLC is activated for this cell, the setting for the cellOLC as follows:

    4112BU_Cell_OLC.jpg

But from what i seen, there is very less HSUPA user (Max 2 users). Or could it be due to Max user due to it was allocated to higher priority services which maybe AMR 12.2 , PS R99 or HSDPA? Please do enlighten me where to get those infos. By the way, Rot means?

    thank you

    Hi My friend,

In my mind, i dont prefer to activate OLC since it will generate unnecessary overload situatio, you know in WCDMA, many power spike my occure and will generate this problem, even sudden drop due to OLC, i think its better to trigger the admission rejection rather than overload.
Try to disable the overload control.
Rot means rise over thermal, maximum ROT that HSUPA should achieve.
Also idont think it s due to prio, since HS, will take the remaining power resource.

    Hi Mate,

Can you share me any related case study on your case please?

    thank you

I have some cases in Siemens network, when we activate this Overload control especially in Uplink, many rejection were appeared because of this overload, and suddenly call released (drop call) even traffic were few, and customer started to complaint. Then i disabled the Overload, by putting high threshold then it became better, drop call improve, and the complaint was solved.
This reason mainly due to power spike in WCDMA, so some time even the traffic is so small, but the noise rise suddenly huge reaching the admission and overload threshold.
In Huawei, i guess its the same thing in huawei, coz their overload controls are modyfing the SF to the higher SF (reducing throughput) till rejecting and releasing the call.
But in Huaawei netw, i never activate this OLC

Can you share other stats like power utilization, avg HS users.

    Hi Mate,

Please find the Mean TCP and Mean HSUPA HSDPA users and RTWP as follows:

Hi Mate, this is a nodeB level counter.

    thank you
