FTP server for RBS 6601 software upgrade

Hello all,

I am looking for a ftp server which will work with rbs 6601 sotware upgrade & license upgrade.

My os is windows 7 ultimate 64bit.

In the past i was doing software upgrade for rbs 3418 with bison ftp server.
It was working fine and my os was win xp.

But now i think bison ftp server is not working with win7.
I tried filezilla also but no luck.

Even i tried another pc with win xp & bison ftp/file zilla for rbs 6601 but failed....

Can somebody help me......

I tried with firewall off. But no luck.

Just 1 doubt should i use filezilla client or server?
I tried both but i am getting an error message couldn't connect to ftp server.

And also when i am trying to open filezilla server it shows me some different ip and port like 127.0.0.1 and port 14147.
Do you have any procedure how to configure the filezilla server ???

Try BPFTP Server it wotks but you must turn off the firewall and the antivirus if you have install

for upgrade use Filezilla Server. somthing is blocking your ftp port 21. try to turn off AV as freedman71 say.

in filezilla you must add user and shared folder see print screens.

Hi.

Use this configuration:

FTP Server:
IP: 169.254.1.2
User: rbs
Pass: rbs
Root folder (for server): Folder containing the upgrade package xml file.
Root folder (for user): Folder containing the upgrade package xml file.

Upgrade from within Element Manager using previous credentials and IP for the FTP server. Point to the xml file to start upgrading:
\<upgrade_filename>.xml

You should connect with no problems. You can't check it by connecting to your FTP server first (169.254.1.2) using rbs/rbs and type ls to see your files.

P.S. As said in this tread stop and disable the Windows firewall service. If using another firewall service like ESET put it on learning mode or simply turn it off too.

Guys its not working.
Let me explain everything.

First I switched my windows firewall off.
Then I switched my av firewall off. And exited the av.

My pc ip is 169.254.1.2/255.255.255.0/169.254.1.1

When i open filezilla server its connected and logged in to 127.0.0.1 and port 14147 and also the server is showing ONLINE.

But when i try to connect to server 169.254.1.2 & port 21 its showing that "connection to server closed"

But i am able to login to node B using element manager with this ip. (169.254.1.1)

I went another site where the site ip is 10.1.245.31/255.255.255.0 (changed the pc ip to 10.1.245.35/255.255.255.0/10.1.245.31)
But i can use either default ip 169.254.1.1 or 10.1.245.31 for logging to the node B with EM. And both ip's are working fine.

Even this site i tried with filezilla server to connect to server 10.1.245.35 & 169.254.1.2 on port 21 but its showing "CONNECTION TO SERVER CLOSED"

Now i am really frustrated.
I need help....

Hi j.ak,

when you start win7 this is first step

next screen is

now, if you configure filezilla server as I give you printscreens in previous post, you are ready for upgrade.

Maybe you can give some print screens how you configure your FileZilla. Copy your upgrade package direct to C partition.

open your element manager and conect to RBS.

In the field userLabel put upgrade package name

In the field user put rbs

In the field ftpServerIPAddress put IP address of your pc.

In the field upfilepathonFTPserver put the path of your upgrade package.

click create package and good luck.

before everything turn of firewall and AV.

if you still cant do upgrade provide me with some print screens what are you do step by step.
