Default HSDPA E2E throughput troubleshooting: How to proceed?

    Hi Everybody,

I’m new in e******* environment and I’d like to get same suggestion from experts or anyone working on similar equipment.
I have a nodeb with full capacity, 15 codes HS-DPSCH, 3 codes HSSCCH and 20w of PA.
I have 2 frequencies, one for R99 and voice call and the second one for HSPA services only.

My question is how to troubleshooting the throughput since I didn’t succeed to get more than 5M with UE cat8 and 10. UL is mapped to HSUPA resources and TTI 2ms is activated and Max MBR is well more than 8Mb for UL and DL.

What about SGSN and GGSN feature and parameters ?

How to check buffer occupancy limitation in RNC, nodeb and flow control ?

How to find out UL issue for UL Ack and min SIR target ?

All your experiences are welcome !

Do you have enough TX boards? Check the number of numHsCodeResources? It is better to have more than one numHsCodeResources.

    Hi Sekit,

numHsCodeResources=3 and i have good cqi (26 atleast) but not al the time modulation 16QAM. is it a problem?
another thing, TBS is not also max and i got DTX between 5 to 30%.

Hm, you must have TX boards that support enough numHsPdschCodes. Also, you must have a licence maxNumHsPdschCodes.
You must have 10 numHsPdschCodes per cell to obtain 7.2M, but it depends on license maxNumHsPdschCodes. This license is per Node B.
For 21 M, you must have 15 codes (numHsPdschCodes ) per cell, and enough TX boards, or one board which supports 60 codes with SF16, so you have 3*15 codes which is less than 60, but also you must know that 1 numHsCodeResources supports 15 codes on all cells together.

I don't need 64QAM since I have mobile Cat8, scheduler PF used and CQI Adjustment on, but still have low throughput!

    Ji auto_art,

Mobile category 8 (DL) doesn't support 64QAM that's why I said it is not necessary.
regarding licence maxNumHsPdschCodes it is ok also with 15 codes per cell.

anuthing about RNC/Nodeb buffer limitation or Iub congestion?

    Thx

You must also have min 4e1 links per Node B

First make sure that u have enough transmiission , FE or other .
second have good RF ,and no bad package to retransmission.

    and so on
