SGS2 has an Infineon chipset. Qualcomm chipsets are used in mid-range Android Samsung phones.

I use RF Signal Tracker and works fine. It also able to export signal plots as KML.

SGS comes in two flavours depending on sale market: Q in US and Infineon in Europe. I don't know anything about Asia.

Are there any utilities (command-line or otherwise) that can be used? For example, after connecting to an adb shell, I can use the command getprop to get a long list of properties but none of them mention the chipset.

There are some other useful commands that I've found that you can run on the adb shell. They don't tell chipset information but there is a lot of other stuff there. Check these out:
