Use of "Thanks Button" ???

Dear Moderators,

what's the use of Thank's Button? Moving to higher level only require reputation and number of posts as per new rule.

As we are not getting any reputation by Thanks Button. so i think its useless.

each thanks u get 2 credits
and u need credits to download files

credits like money
reputation like honour

Credits are only used to download files ...not helping in moving to a senior level. As Every time i am posting something i am getting millions of thanks instead of Reputation.

There should be a option to exchange reputation from credits ??
