Drive test tools calibration are referred to mobiles and scanner calibration. There are certified laboratories which can provide equipment calibration certification. Special attention must be in antennas connections.

Talking Re: Calibrating Drive Test Equipment

The manufacturer can only help u in calibration of the drive kits. And most of them come with an date as to when it is due for calibration.
As per my understanding there is no need to calibrate each and every time you do drive test.
Don't get confused with the calibration carried out by I&C teams for cable testers and site masters etc. That is entirely different.

    Hope this helps.....

If you using Agilent E6474 you heed calibrate USB Audio Module (for MOS test)
In attach: "Agilent E6474A Mobile Voice MOS Test (VMT) Application
Appendix A- Calibration of USB Audio Module" (no pass)

Also , as part of the calibration process and consistent data input you should be aware that you should you have a special (no gain) antenna just as some versions of tems have , which guarantees that the readings will be the same no matter what vehicle you are using. Since most newer phones don´t have a port for external antenna connection, you should at least measure the signal outside the vehicle an then inside it placed in the final position so you can measure the offsset caused by the vehicle´s penetration loss. Also try to always use the same vehicle for drive test and place the phone in the same position as the moment you measured to obtain the penetration loss offsset , it is not the same to do a drive test with a hummer today and with a roofless sports car tomorrow.... readings will change dramatically. Also use common sense ... I had trouble with some drive test because some genious decided that is was more confortable to place the phones inside the glovebox ... no need to say how that turned out at the end of the day ... just my $0.02 (PS: If it helped , Rep and thanks are always welcome)

    elche,

Thanks for these details, as part of the drive test calbration,
i have read that the scanner and UE offset should be in than 8dB window.

Do the UEs have to use attenuators to calibrate the gain? Any ideas about this?
