    Default Why must config Connection from TPGs of TCU cards to IPGEPs on MGW

    In hardware layout of MGW, TCU cards are connected to MUX cards cho signaling and connection, but why must config Connection from TPGs of TCU cards to IPGEPs on MGW, for what ?

    In my understanding, NSN MGW is an ATM switching device. To be able to convert the incoming IP packets from the IPGEP cards, it needs to go to the TCU to be converted to ATM cells (also for other transcoding changes) and switched/routed internally (IPGEP -> TCU -> MXU -> SFU). But configuraing manually the IP address between IPGEP and TCU is a limitation of the IPGEP cards. In the newer version of the card - NPGEP, there is no need for this manual configurations. I hope this explanation helps.
