look for mfg date, should be in or before Q1 2008,
CID 53 is from Q2 2008 and after.

Please inform me how to find out the manufacturing date of SE Handsets. AS per david, I need to check the manufacturing date of SE K790i handsets to find out the CID .
Didn’t find anything at the back side where IMEI is normally written. I cant use SEtool to check the CID at the time of buying handsets.

Please tell me if there is any specific code i need to type in K790 handsets to watch the manufacturing date.(Like *#06# to check IMEI)

I have already bought a K790i_made in Malaysia..as per your instruction i found the mfg date: 07W13.. It means before Q1, 2008..so it will be CID52 as per david. But by using SEtool i got the phone is CID 49 and i'm trying to convert the phone from CID49 to CID 52 by using a script...but whenevr i try to do so, the operation is failed...dont know why...i have talked to a SE handsets expert in our local market and he said it might be a problem related to GDFS. He cant give me any solution.

Please reply anyone how its possible to convert the handset into CID52.
Or is there any other solution to activate TEMS in my k790i handset without converting the CID?
