    Default Atoll Model Tuning Report

    Hi! It's not a guide on how to calibrate a Standard Propagation Model in Atoll, its a report of the calibration this Model.

    "This document covers the results from the RF measurements in the GSM 900 MHz band performed in Denizli, Aydin, Mugla and Antalya cities during 13 June and 18 June 2007 by IRIS Telecommunication as well as calibrated model settings including clutter attenuation for the path loss prediction.

    The RF measurements have been tuned using Atoll Radio Planner, Version 2.5.0 and the propagation model is Standard Propagation Model (SPM). SPM is tuned by means of Automatic Calibration Tool supplied by Atoll 2.5.0."

    Personally, I understand this report has helped more deeply with the tuning model. Let's see if it helps someone else.

    Thanks....i have not checked yet but should be useful.. I am looking to do model tuning from scanner drives on live GSM network. Any inputs for this work?

    In fact of the matter is that the live network to make measurements quite difficult. You need to provide clear channels for each measurement site, to avoid disturbing influences. We have done so:
    choose a channel;
    it was removed to the neighboring sites of a sufficiently large cluster;
    put equipment;
    did the drive-test.
    However, the report is well documented every action made by the specialists.

    Hi, many thank's for this report, especially for the procedure to do the tuning.

    I just asking which is better planning tool for doing this ? Atoll, Asset, NetAct, TCPU or any other else?

    I've been doing this before using NetAct and the result always different if using different map resolution ( trial with 20m and 50 m resolution). And what map resolution for best result? Dense Urban? SubUrban, Rural ?

    And another one question, is it the same procedure for different geolocation / weather, because i think it's will give different result or procedure for desert area, humid area, tropic, cold etc.

    From the report, I think this model from Turkey, right?

    Please, here the expert member give explanation, thank...

    Dear friend, I am required to do something like this for my network but i sincerely do not know how you related the drive-test data to retune the propagation model.

    Please help here or if u dont mind we could chat so that i can fully understand this process.

    Many thanks

    Hi!
    Adjusting the model was carried out in Atoll. I used a long time TCP and tell you that Atoll and TCP - this is heaven and earth in terms of ease of planning, conducting base network, and indeed, the main thing - it's easy.

    Of course, when using maps of different resolution, you get a different customized models. Best resolution maps, respectively, Dense Urban - better and differently, for "urban" model is set up. Worse resolution (we - 100m) - map of the country - a different model.

    Of course, we did not use this "Turkish" :-) model on our network. A sense that we have very different geolocation, and sometimes we have winter and summer, and foliage on the trees and bare poles?

    I hope you have understood my explanation

    Basically what i'm asking is that i'm a network where we are performing a complete audit after which we would like to tune the propagation model using the drive test logs conducted.

    I have never done this before (Model tuning) so i would like you to explain why this is done and its usefulness then maybe if u find time later you could explain to me how it is done.

    If you dont mind we could meet on yahoo or google chat....Many thanks friend
