Now we still in the beginning of the 4G commercial networks, even in some lucky countries.


Please find an overview of 5G radio access technology.I don't know if this is only an idea or a technical fact but it worth reading to be in touch with the technology world.

Not sure about you but I am not very excited by what this paper states as 5G.

The so-called Beam-Division Multiple Access is not such a new technology. It is just another brand name for Space-Division Multiple Access or Smart-Antennas.

This technology requires either LoS operation (not very useful for mobile comms is it?) or (for FDD) channel knowledge at the base station.

The fact that there are no disadvantages of BDMA mentioned in this paper is indicative of its significance.
