Default What's the % of indoor traffic ???

    Hi again guys:
    An "Easy" question...
On a mature network what's the % of indoor traffic from total network traffic???
** indoor traffic: Just the traffic from microcells, picocells, etc. Not traffic from sites penetrating the buildings. Just traffic from indoor solutions

    Thanks a lot guys!!!!!

    Regards!!!!!!

That might vary from operator to operator depending on how much indoor deployment they have done. But if you consider the outdoor to indoor as well thats normally considered 85-90% (in packet connection) of the overall traffic (its an approxiate value considered by mobile operators). In other words, the whole indoor traffic (be it from Indoor deployment or outdoor to indoor) is 85-90%

    Hi!
This depends on network topology and technology.
WIth high density of macro sites, and decently build buildings, it is very low.

As we provide most of the traffic from macro layer, it is only few % served by
indoor cells (eiher dedicated cells on macro node, or pico cells) and repeaters.
Traffic served by repeaters is unmeasurable - but they add to the picture.

Indoor systems are very expensive, and they have very low trunking gain,
so we prefer to do it from outside. Only buildings where this is mandatory are served
from inside. Luckily, not many in my country.
Thus, this is high issue in metropolitan area, but not in rural areas.

    Thanks guys!!!
    Apreciatte

I process some network statistics and got this:
Indoor projects: 7% of all traffic (indoor projects, outdoor sites)
Outdoor sites in indoor enviroments: 14% of all traffic.

then... % indoor traffic (indoor enviroment) from all traffic in a denseurban-urban city: 21%....

what do you think about that???

    Regards to all

    Hi
If you are using this value for Planning, then
Indoor Traffic: 60% as default assumption.

I think it should be less than these.
In our case 10% equipment is Indoor and Traffic is 12 to 13 % of that.
