It will block only the unused trx if it has no traffic. thats all I know and have experience it.

This feature reduce power in 10% in my case, increase half rate utilization.

We have seen "BTS power saving cell" problem in BSC R09A. The detail: In BSC R09A version, TRX blocked when free but didn't unblock when busy. We have upgraded IPA, we are testing and waiting now.

Hi, NOT advisable for MBC networks. OL traffic will reduce dramatically! Good luck.

E/// BTSPS will shut off higher Ch-grp once traffic falls. So this means in MBC, you will see OL traffic go down once BTSPS is enabled. You can overcome this if you want OL to be Up, by just defining OL as Chgr=1 & UL = Chgr2. You keep Chgr=0 for BCCH.

Just don't use it side by side with SCLD if design is configures to transfer calls from UL to OL. Intracell HO due to TRX blocking may increase..
