T3230 timer is started at Mobile when the Originating call reason is CM SERVICE REQUEST or CM RE-ESTABLISHMENT REQUEST, this timer stops when Mobile receives CM SERVICE ACCEPT, CM SERVICE REJECT or Ciphering mode Setting, if this timer times out, the call is terminated/cleared by Mobile itself. T3230 timer's value is 15 seconds.

You can find it in old 04.08 or 3GPP24.008 specification for the definition.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

Call Re-Establishlishment is applicable for those sites that are nearly or close to each other, and useful for congested sites since it will re-establish a call to a neighbor (i.e. when it's not congested) when the serving site is congested.

But if they are not, it causes poor call set up.Based on experience on our network.

    Regards//

    Hey, thanks !

What about Drop call rate. I tested and Have big improvement...

However, improvement comes from the fact that Numerator of DCR contains - SDCCH_Reestablishment_success counter.
So this counter is subtracted from the number of drops.

First, I'm wondering why DCR formula considers SDCCH reestablishment, and not TCH reestablishment...

Second, Have you got any idea of user perception ? High risk user will wait and hangup himself after beeing fedup...

    Thanks again !!

Nobody interested to improve DCR in his network ??

By the way, T3230 starts when MS sends CM service request (with reason Reestablishment).
However, How long mobile is allowed to send this request?
Is there any other timer before T3230 starts?
