    Hi,
    I recommend to upgrade Mini-link Craft to 2.8 or 2.9, then you must to connect with remote node, this is possible through DCN (management network), connect Local NE via USB, start LCT and enter IP address of remote NE. If you have correctly configured DCN network you will open remote NE. Procedure for upgrade is same like upgrading local NE. If this link or node carry traffic i recommend to do upgrade on site, always is possible something to go wrong, but if this is new link and you do not have design documents for DCN will be enough to enter two different IP from same network in link NE's, and you will be able to open remote NE from local.

    I recall that was impossible to upgrade a NE at far end through USB connection only through DCN interface at NPU.

    Dear Sabeeh,

    You need to check if your BPFTP is properly configured on your laptop and SBL's are located in the proper folder.
    For example:

    C:\tn_ftp_home-> tn_system_release -> ml_tn_software -> CXP9010021_1
    | |-- CXP9010021_1_R3A (SBDF 2.1 and later)
    |-- CXP9010618_1
    | |-- CXP9010618_1_R1A (NPU1 B)
    |-- CXP9010617_1
    | |-- CXP9010617_1_R3A (NPU2)
    |-- CXCR102004_1
    |-- CXCR102004_1_R3A (LTU 155)

    fonefreak,

    can you give me the BFTP settings! i tried to upgrade a TN but the upgrage status for the load modules was passive so the TN failed to upgrade. I was using Mini link craft 2.14.

    thanks,

    If you are using MINI-LINK Craft 2.14 and are connected locally via USB, I suggest to use the ftp embedded in craft instead.
    Default settings should be sufficient for you to get things working alright.

    I used the in built ftp server for mini link craft 2.14 but the load modules still failed to upgrade the TN.

    Are you able to view the different baselines with the browser button in craft?
    I find it likely that you have unzipped your files at wrong level in the file structure.
    Unzip directly under the ftp-root.
    You should get the CXP9010021/1 and each load module under.
    FTP-root -> tn_system_release -> ml_tn_software
    as fonefreak wrote.

    Try to ftp to your ftp server with another client and check that the files are in the right place.

    Hi,
    You can use any version. Considering that your dcn was already configured( Basic Ne,OSPF...),you should be able to access the files for upgrade where it was defined in the BFTP. Considering this details, you should be able to access and upgrade remotely
    Connecting to the site LAN port on NPU(RJ 45) using Lan Cable,define the IP settings on your laptop:
    Ip adress = Ip adress defined on Basic NE +1
    Subnet = 255.255.255.252
    Gateway = Ip address defined on Basic NE
    Before doing a remote upgrade,try 1st to access the files locally,If you are not able to access the files then you will not be able to upgrade remotely
    I assume you already know the format of the main and sub folders for the root folder
    Connecting to your BFTP,you will be able to see the FTP server online with its IP which is equivalent to Basic NE address+1.
    This IP will be used to upgrade remotely or locally. The default Ip for local server during upgrade is 10.0.0.2,you just need to change it.
    Upgrading remotely and locally is just the same, you can use remote server or local server which will still be the same. Just take note of the IP of your FTP server.
