Default Default Values fo events 6 3G (UE internal measurements)

    Hello,

I have been walking with some doubts about events 6 (UE internal measurements) in 3G.

Should They be allways active?in CS and/or PS sessions?

What values should events 6 have, in terms of time-to-trigger, thresholds, etc..?

Someone knows something about that?typical values for them... experiency and knowhow...

    Thanks in advance,
    Sam

Question Re: Default Values fo events 6 3G (UE internal measurements)

    Hi,

    can anybody help me?

These events 6 (UE internal measurements) are related with handover in 3G.
Can you check in your network how they configured?

    Please let me know.

    Thank you,
    Sam

event6a : UE TX power higher than a max threshold (RNC controlled).
as far as I remember this threshold is about 10 dbm. give me time to check

It is good to have these triggers as well, nothing to lose. They are especially useful if you have cells with high UL RSSI. I would suggest you use your vendors recommended settings first and then tweak as needed.

Usually triggers are around the 20-22dBm mark (considering most UEs are power class 3 i.e. max Tx power 24dBm)

Question Re: Default Values fo events 6 3G (UE internal measurements)

    Hi,

Wolverine and Eritelecom thank you for your answers.

At this moment in network they are configured like it´s showed bellow.
For me, I think that these values are not the best.

    "
e6a Measured Quantity: UE Transmitted Power, Transmitted Power Threshold: 24, TTT: 100 (ms)
e6b Measured Quantity: UE Transmitted Power, Transmitted Power Threshold: 23, TTT: 240 (ms)
e6a Measured Quantity: UE Transmitted Power, Transmitted Power Threshold: 23, TTT: 240 (ms)
e6b Measured Quantity: UE Transmitted Power, Transmitted Power Threshold: 22, TTT: 100 (ms)

    "

Can you suggest a new configuration or values that you have in your live networks for these parameters?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

    Hi,

You can also set event 6 measurements as HO criteria. This will enable you to have a better quality of signal based on the power transmitted by the UE.

If the system is Nokia you may use the following configuration:
    GsmUETxPwrThrAMR - -3dB
    GsmUETxPwrThrCS - -3dB
    GsmUETxPwrThrNrtPS - -1dB
    GsmUETxPwrThrRtPS - -3dB
    GsmUETxPwrTimeHyst - 320 ms

If the system is E******* you may use the following values:
    ueTxPowerThresh6b - 18 dBm
    timeTrigg6d - 320 ms
    timeTrigg6b - 1280 ms

    Hope this might help you.

    Br,

    Sen

    Hi senjamir,

    and about e6a?

    Someone knows about Huawei parametrization?

I have two events e6a and two events e6b (checked by Tems Investigation)
Is this related with UEs with diferent power class (21dBm or 24dBm)?
