EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Hi guys!
Got EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle. Who have appropriate expirience?
A few more questions:
1. How to plug it? I think that I leave the second end unconnected. Is it true?
2. Will it work in modern OS, like Win 7 x64?
3. Will it work with Programming Tools 2011/2012?

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
if i'm right remember - for it maked the deskey2 dongle emulator.
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
LOL. Who is emulator? It's is the dongle!

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
From the user manual:
DONGLE Hardlock installation
Install DONGLE harlock, manufactured by Nokia, to computer
parallel port LPT1 or LPT 2.
Hardlock does not need separate driver installation because the
Nokia ITSI Tool Basic installation program will install the driver during
Nokia ITSI Tool Basic installation.
Im find the information in the Nokia ITSI tool Basic User Guide.

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Thanks, but this manual not helpful at all. How to drive car? Seat in the car and drive it.

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
I think this is a funny night...
You need the dongle for the installation and to use the softwares (read or write radio).
We have older version (XP) and later version softwares (Win 7), but no one of them are later than yours.
If you installing the Phoenix or the ITSI-tool, during the installation the dongle driver is istalled automatically.
You can yuse the good old blue LTP-port dongle.
Important: for the Phoenix and ITSI use two different computers.
(Have you ever tested Nokia phone ITSI-tool for radio programming ?)
Now we have THR-9 terminals and the pre 2012 softwares are fine.

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
may simple make the dongle emulator instead LPT dongle?

1. Easy, If You own an old Laptop or Desktop, just plug it into an LPT port
2. Yes, it will work in Win 7
3. Yes, It will work with Nokia EADS software

Thanks for your answer. Small clarification. Shall I leave another (unused) end of dongle unconnected? If you remember, LPT dongle have 2 connectors (at the 2 sides of its body). And after that I must plug serial programming cable into serial port. Right?

Yes, I know it. I've worked with EADS USB dongles.

Okay. I got info about newer Airbus software. Totally new architecture, brand new interface and more complicated. More likely SEPURA SRM2. It does exist, but I think, doesn't work with LPT dongles anymore.

Could you please tell why? I've used them on the same PC before. With 2 different USB dongles IIRC. I've definitely programmed ISSI and radio settings from the same PC with no issues.

Yes!

Sorry, but your english is totally unrecognizable.

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
What He meant to say was, LPT Dongle goes to LPT Port on Computer, reason why dongle has also the connector on the other side is to enable a user to use Printer on the same port that dongle is using.
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Got your idea. He meant that it can be used for pass-through connections if PC is equipped with just one LPT port.
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Guys!
Is Phoenix software needed only for cracked versions of Programming Tool? Or it's needed for normal PT as well?
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
And how to test Nokia / EADS LPT dongle for operability? I have a bunch of DK-2 and PKD-1 LPT dongles, but all of them unrecognizable by Programming Tool and ITSI Tool. I tried on Windows 7 and Windows 98, two different PC with native hardware LPT ports. They are all come from eBay and looks like strongly used, but I can’t believe that they are all dead. Although who knows?
desdiag-2 tool from DES company show this on any dongle, including DK2:
Code:
*******************************************
DESkey Details:-
*******************************************
DK2 Demo Not Found
Starting DK2 Workout Saturday 05 May 2018 at 22:55.19
Searching for a DESkey...
No DESkey could be found (0x00000003)
DK2 Master Demo Not Found
Does it mean that they are all dead?
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
see at your log detail: "DK2 Demo Not Found" and "DK2 Master Demo Not Found".
the EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle is NOT DEMO dongle
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Ok, it does matter. But I don't see any other references to DesKey in log. The rest data is about files, PC config, etc.
And ITSI and Programming Tool also can't find it at installation. Swapped all 5 dongles in sequence.
If you have their key, you can downalod diag tool and try by yourself.
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
for logging the LPT key you can use IRP Trace software, but better way is upload the target software and give the download link in PM. may be any1 can help you...
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
I see You are still playing with dongles, If Your Pc cannot detect Deskey PKD dongle, it means 2 things.
1.No drivers
2.Dongles are dead
Also, I would like to inform You regarding Nokia EADS Phoenix software; You cannot use just any Nokia PKD-1 dongle, You need a dongle with a license for EADS Phoenix.
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
What drivers needed for LPT dongle? It's is LPT. Software just opens port and set levels. This is how I understand it.
And why I need dongle fot EADS Phoenix? Phoenix is some service software for cell phones - to flash them, to restore them, etc. I no need Phoenix software as such. I need a dongle with a license for TETRA Programming Tool for Operator and ITSI Tool.

If You want to program EADS Tetra radios You will need EADS Phoenix software.

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Your picture shows NOT Phoenix, but your picture shows TETRA Terminal Programming Tool!
Here is Phoenix software: https://allmobitools.blogspot.ru/201...ked-nokia.html

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
If you have EADS handset, this means You have a TETRA radio hence You need EADS Phoenix software.
The Link You sent is for Nokia mobile phones, not TETRA radios

Where you seen Phoenix word in EADS / Cassidian software? Can you show?
Phoenix Service Software is not only for Nokia cell phones, but also works for EADS TETRA terminals when TETRA Terminal Programming Tool is cracked. It provides some drivers / communications API for EADS TETRA terminals as well.
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
It is not shown on the photo, but trust me I know what I am talking about.
And no, normal Phoenix will not work with EADS radios

Why you call it Phoenix if this name is not presented on EADS software at all?
And Phoenix Service Software supports EADS radios. It provides communications API for radios, port drivers, etc. I have cracked version of TETRA Terminal Programming Tool that's requires Phoenix Service Software (and it's working!). And I also know that I am talking about, because I've working with EADS radios for a 5+ years. I've had genuine USB dongles, I have cracked EADS software and LPT dongles as well.
Now is only what I need is to run TETRA Terminal Programming Tool and ITSI tool on LPT dongles. Because cracked version is a bit older than TETRA Terminal Programming Tool 2011.

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Your cracked Phoenix software is as You said cracked, Frankenstein of original EADS software.
Anyway, as you said You know what You are doing I wish You well.
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Yes, it might be Frankenstein. But you din't answered a question about Phoenix name. Not good approach.
I will solve all issues now ot later. It's jus question of time and resources.

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Thanks!
But could you please tell a bit what this tool do and what is good to run OS?
Is it LPT dongle emulator? USB emulator? Dongle patcher? Or something else?

Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Okay. Got this tool woking and understand it for the most part.
Now there are only 2 questions:
1. What parameters are needed for the EADS dongle (ID, operator, byte, etc)?
2. Shall I have estimated counter value more than 0 or it doesn't matter for PT / ITSI installation?
-
Re: EADS PKD-1 LPT Dongle
Okay. Everything sorted out. Thanks for pointing me into right direction.
