That is an interesting questions. Do you already have the map data? If you do, then check the projection system used in the data, and select the same projection in Atoll. If you don't have the data and plan to purchase the data, then pick a nice projection and have your vendor provide the data in your desired projection system. UTM is a commonly used system you can pick and almost all of the vendors can provide the data in UTM system. Of course, a lot of vectors data are provided with geographical latitude/longitude system.<br>

try to get digital map whith BIL extention if you don't have it you can use global mapper to convert to bil that atoll support. or SHP extention for vector.

Using 3D GIS data (building maps) does not bring any benefit if you don't have 3D propagation model (Ray tracing, like one from http://www.awe-communications.com/ )
