As on this forum there are a lot of participants from different countries.
And probably each of us have digital, GPS, topographic ... etc maps of our countries ...
Lets share them. It will be great if ADMIN will ad Uploading/Downloading system to this forum.
To upload files on this server and not on rapidshare and megapload.

1. Which map data formats can be used in TEMS CellPlanner?
TEMS CellPlanner supports the following map data formats:
*
MRR native format
*
Geobox format
*
Planet EV format (Grc and Grd)
*
Planet/EET format (equal to TEMS Cellplanner 3.x and 4.x map format). Some restrictions exist regarding folder names (and position within the folders), mixed resolutions and vector building data with height information.
*
Gen format (with some restrictions)
*
MapInfo export format (Mid/Mif)
*
Image file formats (TIFF, GIF, BMP, JPEG…). A corresponding index, TFW or similar file must first exist
*
Raster file format (ASCII GRID)
Before using raster map data (elevation, landuse, buildings, traffic and images) in TEMS CellPlanner it must be preprocessed to internal MRR format to achieve best performance. Preprocessing map raster data is described in the chapter titled “Preprocess Raster map data” in the TEMS CellPlanner Common Features User’s Guide. Vector and text data do not need to be preprocessed and can be used as they are (in Geobox format).
The main reason for preprocessing the raster map data is to support maps with different resolutions in the same project and the maps will also be faster in re-displaying and zooming in and out than previous formats.
2. What is MRR native format?
Multiple resolution raster map data (MRR) is the preferred format for TEMS CellPlanner. This map data format allows you to work with multiple resolutions in the same project. EET/Planet and GeoBox map data formats can be converted to MRR format.
3. What is the Geobox format?
It is an E******* developed map data format. The GeoBox data is tiled and the data in each tile is indexed for fast retrieval. You can also compress the data, thus reducing the storage size as well as the access time. GeoBox stores metadata together with geographic data. Metadata is "data about data", and includes:
*
Information about the area covered by the geographic data
*
Map resolution
*
Map reference parameters used (ellipsoid, projection, geodetic datum, and so forth)
4. What is difference between WGS and Local long/lat?
WGS long/lat is referring to the WGS84 reference ellipsoid (spheroid). Local long/lat is referring to the ellipsoid (spheroid) used in the map reference system selected in the defined project.
5. What is XY pos east and north coordinate system?
This is a projected coordinate system in meter (right-angled).
6. How can I convert my Planet (old TCP map data) to the Geobox format used in TCP?
Please click the updated document for instructions.
7. When converting planet text data with extended character set (ex. Thai) into geobox the characters gets mixed up. What do I do?
In the Map data Import/Transformation tool you can convert planet TEXT data into geobox. When creating a new target, you have the option to select whether or not to use Unicode or Ordinary text method. The default method is unicode which is recommended. If you have any text data which is outside the 7-bit ASCII table (ex. Thai) it is very important to follow the below description for the conversion to be correct.
When converting text data using the unicode option the file txtinfo.ini must exist to ensure a correct conversion. Edit the text meta data of the source layer to be converted (Map properties/Select your text/press edit) and enter the correct values for charset and font, then press "Save" to create the needed .ini file. Please note that pressing "Ok" only affects the presentation of the layer and will not create the .ini file. Pressing "save" is therefore essential to performing the conversion correctly. Now continue your conversion.
8. How can I create a new landuse area (in traffic map layer)?
Please click here for information about how to proceed.
9. How can I add a new landuse code and create a new landuse area (in traffic map layer)?
Enter the Map data Editor window and open the landuse layer you want to edit. Go to File > Meta data. Click Add in metadata window, a new code -1 have been added (the lowest row). Change code nr “-1”, set a new color and alias on the added code. Enter the check box. Save > Ok in metadata window. Now the new code will be visible. Continue with creating a new landuse area, see document added in FAQ #8.
10. How can I change landuse classification (in a traffic map layer)?
If you noticed that a landuse area has been wrongly classified or has been updated to some other landuse code. Please click here for information about how to proceed.
11. How can I convert my building height data in Mapinfo export format (MID/MIF) to the Geobox format used in TCP?
Please click the updated document for instructions.
12. How can I convert my Elevation data in Mapinfo export format (MID/MIF) to the Geobox format used in TCP?
Please click the updated document for instructions.
13. How can I convert my Landuse data in Mapinfo export format (MID/MIF) to the Geobox format used in TCP?
Please click the updated document for instructions.
14. How can I convert my Vector data in Mapinfo export format (MID/MIF) to the Geobox format used in TCP?
Please click the updated document for instructions.
15. How can I visualize both TCP sites and plots simultaneously in Google Earth?
To be able to use Google Earth you must download the Google Earth free software from http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html site. The TCP project is opened. Export the sites: Map > Export sites to Google Earth, the sites will be saved in a KMZ file. Export the plot that is visible in TCP main window: Map > Export Layer > Select the plot and save in Google Earth file type. Click the exported KMZ file for the exported sites, Google Earth will guide you to the correct location and the sites will be visualized. Minimize the Google Earth window. Open the plot KMZ file and you will now automatically visualize both the exported plot and sites in Google Earth window.
16. How can I find out in what map coordinate system my MRR or Geobox data is located in?
Open File > Map data > Import/Transformations. Source > Open source database, and highlight the MRR or Geobox layer you want to check the map coordinate system in. Click on details in the same “open source database” window it’s now possible to check the Reference system used in the Map details window.
17. How can I define a new Map coordinate system in TCP?
If your data is in Planet format, check for the geodetic datum in a text document that has been provided by the map data vendor. The projection file located under the heights directory just defines the Ellipsoid and the projection parameters used for your map data, not the needed geodetic datum. To define a new map coordinate system, look in Common Features Users Guide manual at page 65.
18. How do I remove clutter codes in my Planet map data before pre-processing to MRR format?
Remove these unwanted codes in the menu.txt file before pre-processing. This procedure is needed when combining two UTM zones together if “unknown” clutter code surrounding the map data.
19. How can I convert image files in TIFF, GIF, BMP and JPEG formats?
Procedure in TCP: Source > Map data > Import/Transformations. Then, Source> Open source file and select the image/images (batch conversion is possible) of interest. Note!, a corresponding index, TFW or similar file must first exist together with the image in the same folder. The image pops up in the window. Then, Target > New, and create a target path for your conversion. > Click Create. Now start the conversion in Target > Update... When ready, pre-process your image (geobox) to MRR format.
20. How can I re-project (change map coordinate system) image files in TIFF, GIF, BMP and JPEG formats?
Start with converting the image in the coordinate system it's located in, see procedure above. Then you will have to open the converted image file (geobox format) in the map import window and Create a new target database. Before creating the target database change the coordinate system. Start the conversion. When ready, pre-process your image (geobox) to MRR format.
21. What resolution and theoretical accuracy can be expected when visualizing an exported TCP plot in Google earth?
The map window scale when exporting a TCP plot is significant! For example, if you have a map window zoom of 1:200 000 in TCP, the exported plot result will give you a resolution (pixel size) of 50m and theoretical accuracy (easting/northing) will be around half of the resolution, in this case 25m. The formula for getting the Google earth resolution: RESOLUTION = SCALE FACTOR / 4000 (m).

No need to download a trial version. Global Mapper v8 and 9 can be downloaded here in the forum or any crack site.<br>I believe uel888 and DCA posted a link here. Regarding GTPforPlanet, it is a very powerfull tool for map conversion. It is very easy yet very useful. Thanks to DCA again for his unending support. You do not need to determine the origin of any mapdata, it is automatically distinguished plus, it may only take 3 to 5 secs to convert maps to grid.<br><br>GTP supports these formats:<br>Grid Translator Pro handles multiple datasets formats. hi all
for each technology, it uses their own map
compared tcp3.2 uses dem file format and it requires a large memory of PC to operate it.
Mrr format used by tcpu has a very high resolution, and easy to handle by the tool.
I think different map follow the evolution of technology and complexity
of the environment.
