Hi!

I am planning capacities in transport network for HSPA+ network running at 21Mbit/s, between NodeBs and RNC. If someone has experience, what aggregation rate should be used in trunk links, please share :)
I know that is affected on number of users and their habits, marketing, but for start, is there any recommendation. I know rate between RNC and SGSN, should it be the same?

tnx

Hello again

Is something changed after 9 months? :)
I now that E******* has internal document regarding this, but I couldn't reach it, nor any other.

Has anybody had similar problem?

This is really a good topic. Can you share the E/// doc? Thanks

If I just had it.
I wondered if someone had such a document. I couldn't find anything online, but I believe soon something will come up.

I've implemented in network some rules, so before theory, practice will show what is adequate.

it depends what segment of transport, like middle mile, last mile, core, etc.... There are aggregators like ALU SAR 7750, Nokia also has their own, Juniper and Cisco... so it dpends... remember it will be all IP backbone/

Unfortuantely I don't have the E/// doc about this topic, but I can share what parameters using in practice in 3HU single RAN 3G (21Mbps operating / 42 Mbps planned, full IP, Huawei) network:

3G nodeB,voice+R99: overbookig factor: 1.7
3G nodeB, HSPA+ : overbooking factor: 2.5
2G BTS (IP !) also 1.7
for provided leased lines: overbooking factor: 1 (means no aggregation)

these values are from test results not from theoretical calculations

Of course must taking into account that overbooking values are largely depending from network structure and devices!

Hope I could help a little and sharing docs and experiences also welcomed!
