Hi Guys.

Is there any table that show the % of frame lost in FER (Frame Erasure Rate) like we have in BER (Bit Error Rate)?.

Thanks in advance

Dear
There is no table but you can do it by your self you use this formula
FER full= (number of block with incorrect CRC/25)*100
FER SUB=(number of block with incorrect CRC/2)*100
Hope it help you

What is CRC?

And could you give more explanation for BER and FER?
I don't understand these terms completely.

CRC is Cyclic Redundancy Check and that is the way to check whether all bits in a message are correctly received.
BER is calculated before interleaving (and from it RxQual is derived), and FER is after interleaving, so FER is better to watch if you are following the influence speech quality.

BER Calculation and FER Calculations takes place after deinterleaving and before convolution decoding process

BER - Estimates the no of error bits in the received 456 bits ( of a frame)
It is calculated over Convolution coded (50 Class 1a Bits, 132 Class 1b bits to 378 bits) 378 Class 1 bits & Unprotected 78 class 2 bits

FER - Its a 3-bit CRC Check of Class 1a bits (50 bits in 456) if this CRC fails then the entire burst is ignored or dumped

FER has severe impact on network quality
