Thanks friend, can ypu please give me of your time and explain this point in more details:

1. If we are getting handover say in sec. A from sec. C i.e. getting both in the main lob of one, then it means there is mutual swapping of only either DX1 or DX2 of sec. A & C.

Please explain it and how to solve it, if you can attach pictures it will be so helpful
Thanks

Dear Justdream

Suppose we are standing at sec A main lob and handover is taking place continuously between sec A & C,that means mutual swapping of only either DX1 or DX2 of sec A & C..

here Dx1 and Dx2 are the two RF feeder cables

Expalination:

let us take an example Dx1(for sec A) and Dx2(for sec A) and
Dx1(for sec C) and Dx2(for sec C) are the two feeder cable for the sec respectively

if by mistake installation team have connected Dx1(for sec A) in place of Dx1(for sec C) that means wrongly placed so HO occurs continuously in main lob of any one sec.

Hope you have got the point now...

Any doubt most welcome.....

Thanks a lot, it is very clear now.....I have very simple question? it is shame that I don not knozw it but the bigger shame if I don not ask.

Why each antenna has two feeders? whatùs the reason behind that? I think both of them do the same function, right or wrong :)

Two RF Feeders are required coz one for transmitting & other is for receiving the
RF signal

Dear Basith:

If one for transmit (Dx1 for example) and the other for receive (Dx2)
So, if the installation teams by mistakes connect sector 2 Dx1 in the place of sector0 Dx1:

I will get frequent handover between sector 0 and 2 BCCHs and TCHs if I drove in front of sector0 maibbeam (two transmit cables)
And I will not receive any information if I drove in front of sector2 mainbeam (two receive cable)

Am I right or wrong?

Dear Justdream

This kind of swap that you mentioned named Cross Connection and in the network is more difficult to find!!

For your information there is 3 kind of Swap:

1.Complete Swap
2.Partial Swap
3.Cross connection

justdream

so now I know complete swao and cross connection, what about partial?

Please advice

Hi basith.aces,
If you're talking 10 years ago, may be you're correct, that one feeder for transmitting and another for receiving. But now, these 2 feeders are for Main and Diversity, means that you can use this antenna even with 1 feeder, but you won't have diversity gain.

Please guys, advice me if I have this type of feeder mentioned by rheyra, how could I detect the swap (what will be the impacts) in case of just swaping one feeder from antenna one into antenna two as shown in pic

unusual behaviour of the serving cell, lot of ping pong handovers, between both sectors !!

Drive to the long distance and you'll see your call may get drop !! , Poor RxLev will also be observed !!

Yoy can detect the swap by drive test, just check your BCCH for all the cells, you will find if anyfeeded is swapped.

Thanks

You can also detect swap with the stats and later on confirm it with the drive test :) :)

I have just told the symptoms !

you are right Iccengr, The stats can lead you for to feeder proplems and the swap, but you can't Judge exatly and decide that it is Feeder swap, in the drive test you could see the BCCH for Cell_A into Cell_B which have no other meaning.

You have an other way to detect the swap" it is like stats" to check the ICMBAND in the BCS for the cell.

In E******* you can use the comman (Rlcrp: cell= CELLNAME) which Displays the ICMBAND valuse, if in the idle mode the ICMBAND going to be 3 or more, then you have swap or external interference .
