Friends,
I got a missing neighbor between these two sites but the no handover failure, so does it mean that there’s a mistake in the neighbor relation between these two sites or there is another reasons for missing neighbor event…
Thanks

Hi My friend,

Missing neighbour doesnt mean there is handover failure, there are many reason for HO failure, eg, target cell is blocking or have bad KPI so source cell couldnt perform HO when HO is triggered.
For your inquiry above, i think TEMS have methode to justify the missing neighbour event.
If im not wrong, when we perform drivetest using scanner and ue, tems always compare the best server from the scanner and best server from ue, if there is difference between best scanner and best ue, so it will count as missing neighbour.
CMIIW.
but for sure you must ensure that the neighbour must be defined apropriately in the database. Some time tems do the illogical missing neighbour event, so you should crosschek between the drivetest and live network database

Thanks my dear friend,

Is there a tool to check the relation between Sites and neighbors?
I heard about MCOM, or there is better tool????

Please advice

Hi my friend,

You can use MIPT, fill all neighbour from live database to the sheet. Or i think you can use tems cell file to view the neighbour as well.

In GSM most neighbor relations are symmetric, also called mutual which means that you will be able to do handover from CellA to CellB , and from CellB to CellA. when you do a handover from CellA to CellB TEMS checks the neighbor list if handover from CellB to CellA is defined in CellB. If not defined a missing neighbor detection is triggered, that is most likely the reason you are getting that message. So if you do the drive test in the opposite direction the handover from CellB to CellA will not take place. just doubleclick over the missing neighbor report to see the source and target cell relation you must define in the bsc. Br, you know where the reputation and thanks buttons are if it helped

Hi frien,

The neighbour should be defined effectively as the database has maximum neighbour definition. And should be inline with operator strategy, eg operator has more DCS spectrum than GSM...
1. define the neighbour on the first layer, for rural area define till second layer etc
2. the neighbour definition should be bothway as previous post by elche
3. parameter should consistent each other, as i have post on other post
4. GSM GSM HO,GSM DCS HO, DCS GSM HO and DCS DCS HO parameter should be define properly (layering strategy) both on idle and dedicated mode, to absorb traffic on DCS, avoid ping pong HO.
5. Handover feature could be implemented to improve the performance, eg Quality HO margin, traffic HO, fast uplink, speed sensitive handover.
6. Monitor the statistical performance

I suggest using your vendor specific tool for gathering call traces and analyzing them to get potential not added neighbors and added yet not needed neighbors, as call traces represent actual measurement reports; and the more the better!

please tell me if you need more help!

Hi,

You can use ATOLL planning tool to generate neighbors. Just use the standard model.

I think this is the easy way.

Why I Can not download in the forum?
Help me.

I abolish the missing neighbors in two ways:
- Drive Test tool for testing the problems and Postprocesing Tool (Actix Analizer tool Audit Neighbor List);
- Study Handoff Statistics using the system Genex Nastar.

Hi all,

I have a good method for processing neighbor and want to share here:
-Step 1: Get the neighbor in the System and import to planning tool ( i use Asset, but you can use other one).
- Step2: Plan neighbor in the planning tool.
- Step3: Planning tool will compare two data (neighbor from system and from planning tool), then it will give the missing neighbors.
- Step 4: Because some neighbors are not accuracy (many reasons), so we need have some tips for this method more accuracy.
+ Must have a good neighbor plan.
+Or: You can use a performance tool to check again. For instance, you can check Handover Matrix and delete wrong neighbors.

Do all the steps above, you will have a good neighbor plan and do not need to many times.

hi lamhd,

from your file which is going to be the cellrefs reference, fill in the neighbour column (ex: GSM) with Cell id.for ex: 44762;44763;53491;53492;54393...(use ";" as separator) respectively.
in Actix network explorer, more precisely at GSM_Cell tab, point the NBorCI to neighbour column from above file.
maybe this can help when you analyze the neighbour relation in Spotlight...

In 3G you just need to add a neighbor column on your cellreff template with SC of the Neighbors seperated by "," sample (238,222,32,100) that should be in that cell.

hope this help

dear friend,...
i think you can use tools same/release in your vendor. if you using e// it's better using mcom but if you using huawei you can use Nastar. the spesific vendor tools give easier mapping from database bsc parameter to mapping tools.... what your vendor equipment?

After applying the procedure suggested by gprastomo,
dont forget to drive test and verify actual performance.

Sometimes, 3 or more tier neighbours have to be added (to minimise drop calls) depending on the site density, tall overshooting sites, hilly terrain, etc.
Cell-pair adjacency report and drive test data are complementary.
Hope that helps.

Thanks my dear friend,

Is there a tool to check the relation between Sites and neighbors?

Please advice

MCOM tool shows the relation between a cell and also shows it neighbors. If some cell has to be defined as neighbor but is not then it can be checked or identified in MCOM. But ultimately the decision is in the hands of the optimization engineer whether or not to include a certain cell as a neighbor. However MCOM can be used for any vendor's n/w. There are vendor specific tools for checking neighbors. Some also predict neighbors to be defined. But usually the neighbros suggested by tools are not very good. Also they require specific formats of inputs which can be possible only provided vendor of n/w is the owner of the tool.

hi,

For e/// network, you can record NCS to see specific neighbors to be defined.
After 1 week or so, use handover statistics to see w/c neighbos to delete.
Just make sure you define all MF's of the neighbors you added..
