Performance in eNode Bs without X2

Dear all,

In the network, there are some eNode Bs without X2 interfaces setup.

My question is if the performance can be affected because of the lack of X2s with neighbor eNBs . Only S1 Handovers are performed in those sites.

Hi,

if your Core Network has been setup to handle S1 HO and have enough capacity to handle extra load, there should be no impact. There could be only slightly longer delay for HO, because higher number of signalling messages are needed for S1 HO.

Does All SON Features affected by removing X2 interface or it can work also on S1 ?
