Two former HTC executives have announced plans to set up their own handset company, focusing initially at least on the European market.
HTC's former head of sales, Michael Coombes and the former UK marketing director, James Atkins launched the new company, under the name of Kazam.
Coombes will serve as CEO, while Atkins take up a position heading the marketing for the new company.
"There is a real opportunity for a new mobile brand to disrupt the status quo," said Atkins at the launch. The company aims to differentiate itself by offering enhanced customer support, as opposed to just plain software updates.
