Hi Everyone,
Can someone kindly guide regarding Huawei MIMO TX mode parameter settings. Kindly share your config and what steps do you (if any) take to optimize it. Other vendor details also welcomed.

Hi mobi,
in Huawei the default configuration is OL activated with Transmition mode 3 = MIMO mode.

This information you can see from XML eNodeB:

<MimoAdaptiveParaCfg>
<attributes>
<MimoAdaptiveSwitch>1</MimoAdaptiveSwitch>
<FixedMimoMode>1</FixedMimoMode>

so TX mode 3 means Rank will be either 1 or 2 and it will dynamically switch from TX diversity to Spatial gain and vice versa ? ?

yes, but one point to mention. The Default value configured is OL it meens (OL TD and OL SM)
If the UE is receiving information on RRCConnectionReconf with TX mode 2 Ue switchto OL TD (Rank=1)
If the UE is receiving information on RRCConnectionReconf with TX mode 3 Ue switch to OL SM (Rank=2)

In huawei documentation it is:

Multiple-Antenna Transmission Mode
Typical Application Scenario

CL-SM (mode 4)
High SINR and slow-moving UE

OL-SM (mode 3)
High SINR and fast-moving UE

CL-TD (mode 6)
Low SINR and slow-moving UE

OL-TD (mode 2)
Low SINR and fast-moving UE

BR!

Boss I think Both TD and SM are in TX mode 3 not in 2 and 3. Also do you have any idea if any one is using any otehr TX mode ?

I can confirm again that in Huawei eRAN2.1 and eRAN 3.0 thei described that tm3 = SM and tm2 = TD; Also this information you can see in RRCConnectionReconfiguration messages from L3/RRC in the Drive test tools (Temps Nemo ...).
Best Regards.
