Hi all,

I use USB to serial cable to connect to hyper terminal to format 3G RBSs and i tried to use the same cable with OMT and it gave me the below error please if anyone can supporrt me what can i do please help me, thanks in advance

make sure that you connecting DUG on LMT-A port, and on OMT go to tools---> Options---> and choose the correct COM port (that is your USB-to-Serial com port).
By the way the attached screenshot is not clear.

I configured the OMT to be as the COM port of the USB to serial and it still gives me this error "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress."

it seems that you should use Windows XP or install Windows XP Mode, because There's no compatibility with Seven and version of OMT .

But all my friends are working with OMT on windows 7 :S thats why i installed windows 7 its really very strange but i wish that someone can hlp me with this

try different COM ports, set your USB-to-Serial adapter use port eg. 23. I had the same problem a while ago, although COM ports 1 and 2 were free to use by usb-serial adapter, I got the same error message. I systematically tried every free port from 1 to to 23 or so and voila, it worked. dunno if this is the solution for you, but it's an idea...

didnt work chammy :( this is really borrign, isnt there any support, :( from E// itself or so, am sure that my usb to serial is working properly coz i work with it on hyper terminal with 3G RBSs, so its all about OMT

My friend try with XP mode !!!I had the same problem with OMT in 7 ,
but when I installed XP mode the OMT connect on 7 and on XP mode.

You maybe using Bafo USB to 2 Serial Port Bro?
I think your problem on your cable if you this cable.

what is BAFO USB to serial port, this cable works with me on hyperteminall with 3G without any troubles, can you please give me any solution to the problem

It was pin connection corrected bro?
in many case i found not all usb to serial cable compatible with OMT/Hyperterminal.
If any friends can be connected using this cable to hyperterminal and OMT, used that.
Compare with your cable pin connection.

I had the same problem, but because my cable was wrong, finally I used as follow:

db9m to db9f

1 -> 1
1 -> 1
1 -> 1
2 -> 2
3 -> 3
4 -> 4
5 -> 5
6 -> 6
7 -> 7
8 -> 8
9 -> 9

after I correct that it works perfect.

FROM OMT TOOLS CHOOSE THE port of the USB to serial and make it disable ,then close omt and reopen again

Hi, I had the same problem and the solution is to start by un-installing the driver for the usb to serial adapter then before re installing it or a prolific usb to serial driver you must right click the executable file and select properties then select compatability and select XP and also tick the box run as administrator, you must repeat this when installing OMT. It will not connect the first time you must restart your laptop with the cable connected after first attempt. It works perfectly, I have all my old programs running on windows 7 this way. :p

you may also check the version of your windows 7 OS. my friend used to run windows 7 64bit and he's having the same problem as you. when he change his OS to windows 7 32bit it works perfectly. hopes this will be of help.

Hi try that @Aidoooo said.. Always change in properties , select compatibility and choose WINDOWS XP SP3 and run as administrator.. u have to change all exe files in your application. Besides when you install u application.

Download this PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1.8.19.zip (http://www.prolific.com.tw/UserFiles/files/PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1_8_19.zip) from here http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProduct.aspx?p_id=225&pcid=41 Now you will need to un install the other usb to serial driver from add and remove programs. Then unzip the prolific driver and right click on it and go to properties and compatability mode and select xp and run as administrator and apply and then install. Now connect the usb to serial cable and try and connect to OMT, remember you should install OMT in xp compatability mode and as administrator also. If it does not work first time then try a restart on your laptop leaving the cable connected to the usb and the DUG. Use the chip check software also to see if the usb to serial cable is compatable, some are not. Please leave me some thanks or feedback if this helps. I have a workaround also for the non compatable chipsets.

over WINDOWS 7 you have change the baud rate of port COM1 to 115200 in system administrator and configure in OMT the option "increased transmission speed" to disable
