Hi guys, my background is in 3G but due to an SRAN project I need some basic knowledge of 2G. I am currently confused about the E******* concepts of Tranceiver Group (TG), Channel Group (CHGR) and TRX (TRXC). How do all of these concepts/definitions tie up? It seems the TG is defined at a BSC level? What is its use? And how do CHGR and TRXC differ? Does anyone have any documentation that describes these? I have access to the ALEX CPI, but it doesn't help. I am working on RBS6000 and BSC Evo Controller.

thanks

Hi Mate,
May my simple response help you.
TG(Transceiver Group) = 1 cabinet of RBS
TRXC = 1 trancesiver. 1 DTRU = 2 TRX module, 1RUS=4TRX module.
CHGR= Channel allocation, grouping of frequency in one cell.

Hi,
As E******* official Document defines it; A TG is the object in BSC that maps a BTS, so we never find the same TG number affected to two different sites inside one BSC. also if one site has 2 Cabinets, it has to have 2 different TGs. If you need more explanation i'll be at your disposal.
