maybe maxbitrate(RAB assignment request) is the min. value among hlr, ggsn, sgsn ?

Hi

In HLR we could have user profile and the services he could avail. in SGSN will deliver the same.i e u will have the QoS set for each service . will attach the Qos for each user

Hi,

This a constant value to specify the max ha rate and it is defined on RBS side

Maxbitrate is the assigned speed in the SIM profile in the HLR. Once you start a service the SGSN will check your maxbitrate profile then it will allocate that you are capable with this certain speed.

However, this can be configured during ongoing data service if you have IN since you can change the QOS profile because the IN is directly connected to the SGSN and GGSN. The initial profile can be reconfigured to provide a different QOS profile.

Note: RBS can also control the speed but by default the RBS is giving you the theoretical speed that the technology provide.

In SGSN also there is some defintions in this regard right ? For ex : In HLR we define X as MAX Bit rate but SGSN Can do only Y (which is Y<X), then further at RNC what is decided to offer X or Y ? How SGSN will do the mapping ?

But overall MBR is frequently used In QoS along with THP and ARP, we use it for Throttling!

how the MAXBIT rate is determined between SGSN and RNC ? Who controls thereafter and how this is updated as the UE moves in and out of good coverage (signal strength) ?

Is there is any role by SGSN to determine the coding scheme used in Radio access network ?
