Hi All,

I'm looking for suggestions as to how to improve the battery life of UEs on 3G.

I know the handsets on 3G use more processing power and all that, but on my network, the experience is terrible.

Please share your knowledge/experiences.

Prevent Ping-Pong effect on HS-CC.

You can also do an audit of your LAC planning on your network. Unnecesary LU drains UE battery life aswell.

Scrambling code planning also need to audit again to improve the synchronization procedure of UE with network.

1)You need to analyze drive test data and found places with high mobile TX power.
Found reason of high TX: low Rx or pilot pollution. eliminate those problem.
2)Also try to control UMTS GSM overlaping zones, when mobile lost UMTS and go to compressed mode, consumption increase.
Adjust histeresis for Inter RAT handower.
3) power control. Just check that all parameters are reasonable, do not change much, overvise you can make worst for KPI.
