Hi experts! I'm optimizing indoor cell site and my problem was long call setup time.
I recorded 7s and I need to make it at least 5s. The equipment was only a 2W Repeater.
Can somebody help me with my problem?
Thank you very much for the support.

It depends upon many factors mainly from core side.

Yet on radio side you can reduce MFRMS to 2 for indoor cells it will reduce call setup time for MT (mobile terminating calls).
If you can conveince CORE, you may trun off ciphering. Then benchmark your call setup time, you will surely come near to 5 secs.

Hi, some trick about cst :
1. make sure the terminating number is not prepaid, since it will come to IN which take delay, also to use the same HLR id
2. Reduce the Nbr of multiframe between paging
3. Turn off imei check (in MSC)
4. Try to make a call under indoor antenna

But i think 7 s is fair for 2G, 5 s in average is difficult. But you can try above.

Here is great guide from Huawei about reducing Call Setup Time in GSM: GBNK.CST.OM.rar (http://www.4shared.com/rar/vZDTAin2/GBNKCSTOM.html)
Maybe this will help you find the solution.

Hi

increase authentication counter value

i.e after intail call next authentication is on next 10 th call...

2) if ciphering is enabled can disable it.

3)FACCH call setup
