Hi All,

Can any one please elaborate how the MS will measure the 3G cells in idle mode if we have defined three different UARFCN cell as the neighbor for a 2G cell? Is there any way to prioritize one UARFCN over others?

Thanks

Hi Rosan,

Currently there is no way to prioritize UAFRCN one over the other, is cells are allowed to be measured then there are available for selection.. there are two to three parameter in 2G which indicate when the measurement is need to be done either in idle mode or connected mode... if the vendor is know more specific answer can be provided to your request.

Thanks louvre.

This is NSN network both 2G and 3G. All the related parameters are properly aligned i.e. Qsearch_I, Qsearch_P, FDDQmin, FDDQoffset etc. Just wondering by configuring three UARFCN cells as neighbor for 2G cells whether 2G -> 3G reselection will be delayed. Appreciate your help

Sorry for the late reply according to my understanding many network has more than one layer on which r99 traffic is pushed so it not a problem ... but yes based on parameter which identifies at which level it start measuring and how sample it need to measure also later on how many cells are reported will cause delay in various phase which need to be accounted for, so if setting a wrong then delay can be expected.
